GET AFTER IT beach fitness offers all of the above & more ~
The beach fitness classes are based at the beautiful coastal town of Longniddry (Bent's No.2) and are open to all ages (16 & above) and for all females with differing levels of fitness and experience.
The classes are all scaled so there is something for everyone with no previous experience required.
If it’s been a while since your last blast or you are a regular fitness fanatic, these exercises aim to strengthen and tone the full body whilst having fun, through consistent practice over time!
The beach here offers not only a beautiful view but a brilliant playground for adventure and varied fitness through team and individual activities.
We all work together to encourage each other to bring out your best performance in a warm and supportive environment.
Each class will involve a range of body weight and weighted exercises, ranging from low impact to high intensity cardio utilising the beach environment and all it has to offer at the core of the fitness.
Hopefully there will be a few new challenges in there for you!
The fitness sessions all last 45 minutes including a warm up to start and a cool down at the end!
Sign up now and let’s get a bit sandy, work up a bit of a sweat, feel the burn, have fun together and I guarantee you will leave each class feeling energised and set for the rest of your day!
With the added bonus of the sea so close by, it would be rude not to go for a dip after class!
So for those that are feeling brave, there is an option to have a swim in the sea after class.
Cold water immersion after exercise has been proven to help aid muscle recovery and boost the happy hormones.
Abby is a qualified fitness instructor and a beach & surf lifeguard, so you are in safe hands.
What is required?
For fitness only:
* A bottle of water
* Old gloves for training.
For dipping:
If you are a regular dipper or this is your first time, I would highly recommend you bring the following as minimum;
* Swimming costume (or you may want to dunk in your training gear, or wetsuit)
* Suitable beach footwear, ideally 5mm booties (for warmth & protection against sharp objects on the rocks &/or seabed);
* 5mm gloves (& a warm wetsuit if you require);
* A warm hat;
* A towel;
* A hot drink; &
* A warm change of clothes/layers for afterwards (it is not recommended to get back into your damp training gear...jacket, gloves, hat, scarf etc).
The water temperatures of the sea fluctuate regularly throughout the year so please come prepared for all conditions. Even when the water is warmer during the summer, I do recommend still bringing booties and gloves to protect the extremities.
As individual safety is paramount I will assess the environment and make a decision that morning, especially if the wind is too high.
If you have no car parking permit, it is £2.50 for parking (or you can park in the overflow car park at the Lomgniddry golf club, at the bottom of Links road for free and walk across the golf course from there...I will have my car at the car park so you can leave any changes of clothes/hot drinks/keys/mobiles in there!)
Please make sure you have a bottle of water that you can move easily with and I suggest bringing some old gloves for the class to protect your hands whilst you are using some of beaches finest natural gym equipment!
I cannot wait to move and swim with you soon.
Much love,
Abs xx
